This bleak subterranean environment, contrasted by the presence of colorfully hand-painted corridor walls, balances both the concrete and the psychological. These monumental murals depict scenes from Eritrea and Hälsingland, which were painted on the walls of Hudiksvall’s hospital underground passageway by artist Tesfay Darghe between 1994-2004.
